Get Your Gw2 Farming Boots On

Just a few days ago Anet renewed their fight against bots and RMT and have had some great success with this new campaign. I’m sure you have all noticed in the huge price increase of all T5/T6 materials. This is fantastic news for players like more that like to farm whilst using the trading post to make their gold. Farming has renewed power and is without a doubt back in the reckoning to be the best way to make gold in Guild Wars 2. Gw2 trading was starting to tip towards crafting but I have a feeling with the recent price increase of all t5/t6 materials that farming will become once again a better way for players to make money than crafting.

You can read John Smiths announcement about the Market Shifts on the Guild Wars 2 forums and he promises more details and updates in the coming weeks, which will certainly be interesting to see.

With farming’s new life I fought I would make this post and link to all the farming spots I have covered here at Gw2 Gold Guide. So go ahead and pick your spot, Lets farm some serious gold.

I’m not sure how long this will last before the bots flood the market again, So I recommend that you take advantage of this change in prices before the prices start dropping down to near vendor price again.

New Gw2 Cooking Guide Level 0-400

new gw2 cooking guideSince we’ve talked a little about crafting at Gw2 Gold Guide, you might have realized by now that having your professions max leveled is a must, especially cooking which is one of the most helpful professions from the game. Why is that? Because cooking never ages: its consumables are always of great help for you and your allies, especially those with that high Gold Find and MF.

There were many cooking guides on the Internet that have grown outdated over the time because of the changes Arena-Net made to the game. Some cooking ingredients disappeared from the karma vendors and everything had to be overhauled.

Here is a cooking guide that requires a little bit of gold, but you will be able to max level your cooking profession in a matter of hours. No more fuss, no more running around and searching for karma vendors: just a bit over 1.5 to 2 gold and it will be all over, with a huge gain in experience also. To save even more gold, it is recommended to plan this ahead and start putting some item demands on the Trading Post. Buying them at their offered price can be a time saver for the impatient, but they will lose more silver than just putting up the offers and waiting a couple of days to be filled.

Bring Magic Find And A Friend

tagging in orr

People have been farming the Orr area for quite some time now, in search for some good drops they can turn into gold. But from what I mostly see, besides the organized guilds that are just passing by, heading for the Arah dungeon, most players solo the area with totally inadequate gear.

So how can you farm best these area and have at least a chance to get some good loot?

First of all, two makes better than one. Farming solo can get you into hard situations where you might even die or be overwhelmed by the attacking risen. This won’t happen when you group up with a friend. Then you will cut through the monsters in the area like butter.

Another very important aspect is Magic Find. Some players asked the question if it’s worth it to give up DPS for Magic Find, since having more DPS means more monsters / hour, thus, more chances to get some items. Well, here you don’t have this problem at all since you are already two players that are killing machines.

Another problem with Magic Find that I have encountered is the misconception that MF adds to the drop chance, instead of “improving” it. Some people miscalculate the real drop chance increase when magic find is added to the equation. Lots of players just add the magic find increase to the drop chance of the item. So for example if an item has a 20% chance of dropping, they will add the bonus MF, let’s say 35% and get a great 55% drop chance. This is actually wrong. The real drop chance is 27% since it is 35% of the default drop chance, which is 20. To make it more obvious, with a 100% MF increase, the item won’t have a 120% drop chance but 40% drop chance.

crafting omnomberry bars

For your weapon, get a Superior Sigil of Luck. At 25 stacks, this will increase your MF by 15%. But be wary since if you are downed you will lose all the stacks. But you can get them back by killing 25 mobs again.

For your armor, you have to choose between the Superior Rune of Noble, Pirate or Traveler. The Rune of Noble gives you a plus of Power (+35 at 5 runes). So if you still want to keep some of your DPS, this is the best for you. Rune of Pirate is more for the Melee professions, increasing Might duration and also granting might to the fellow allies when you get hit (5% chance). Rune of the Traveler is for those that want to be a little bulky or for those that also like to travel a lot. It will increase Vitality (+25 at 4 runes) and at 6 runes you will have a 5% Movement Speed increase.

But what armor should you use? The best is Explorer’s Gladiator’s Armor. This set of armor is available in all three types: Light, Medium and Heavy. Each piece, besides its stats has an additional 3% MF, which adds up to the total amount of MF you have.

Pair all of these with some MF jewelry and some Omnomberry Bars and you are set! If your friend has the same setup, you will be able to get in a matter of hours items that will be worth a couple of gold, regardless of the excellent items that might drop and are valued at tents of gold.

Having Magic Find gear is excellent in any surrounding, be it farming wherever or joining a dungeon raid. More items, more silver and maybe some great drops which can make you filthy rich. You only need patience and luck!

Gain Gw2 Gold Profits From Feasts

Gw2 Trading is all about finding a demand for an item that does not have sufficient supply, Then supplying that item by crafting it. And today at Gw2 Gold Guide I’m going to show you how to make some gold trading Gw2 Feasts.

Crafting is about getting a whole lot of recipes and those ingredients, but most of these crafters, especially those with the cooking profession, forget that they can craft more recipes using the Mystic Forge. Today we will be talking about the Feast recipes, the consumables that are placed on the ground and that everyone can access.

These items are extremely useful since they can be quickly used before entering a dungeon, but more importantly, in World vs. World. With this kind of dish that lingers around for 5 minutes, you can buff all off your allies that are around quickly and efficiently. This is why some of these are in really high demand and people are prepared to pay a lot for them, but they take such a small fee to create. This means that they can bring huge profits, even undercutting the whole greedy market.

But first of all, before starting to sell them, you have to get the recipe and this will take a little bit of investment from your side. The recipe for Feast of X Dish requires: 50 Mystic Coins, 20 Crystals, 17 Elonian Wine (all from Miyani near the Mystic Forge) and 1 of the X Dish not feast in the name. This will set you back around 5-6 gold and 6 Skill Points + the X Dish that you either have to craft of buy, but it’s all worth it as soon as you start selling these.

For example, Feast of Pepper Steak only costs 4 silver to craft and you can sell it from 10 silver up for a minimum profit of 4 silver 50 per item. Feast of Truffle Ravioli has a craft price of 6 silver and can be sold at a minimum of 10 silver for a profit. With these rates, you will get your investment in no-time.

The only thing you should do is analyze the market first for a few days and see which ones sell and which ones aren’t that sought. Make sure to craft some feasts from items that offer high basic stats or magic find, since those are the most important ones.

Some of the recipes that are really worth it are:

  • Tray of Omnomberry Bars: 30% Magic Find; 40% Gold from Monsters; +10 Experience from kills.
  • Feast of Fancy Truffle Burgers: +15% poison duration; +70 Precision; +10 Experience from kills.
  • Feast of Ghost Pepper Poppers: 40% chance to cause might on critical during the day; 40% chance to cause chill on critical during the night; +10 Experience from kills.
  • Feast of Truffle Ravioli: +100 Toughness; +70 Precision; +10 Experience from kills.
  • Feast of Truffle Steak Dinner: +200 power for 30s after killing an enemy; +10% critical strike damage; +10 Experience from kills.

Don’t Lose Gold At The Gw2 Trading Post

Just a basic tip at Gw2 Gold Guide today, and mainly because I still see so many players listing their items without the Gw2 trading taxes in mind. A lot of gold is being lost so I hope this helps people understand how to better use the trading post in Guild Wars 2.

A mistake that lots of players do when going at the trading post is selling low priced items and materials. Although the Trading Post doesn’t allow the buyers to post offers for an item under their default selling price at a merchant, they usually put them with 1 extra copper.

This might seem tempting for someone that just wants to get rid of some unwanted items, and they will also get 1 copper extra for every item than if he would go and sell them to a normal merchant. But they are forgetting one essential thing: the Trading Post fees.

dont lose gold at the gw2 trading post

The fees of the Trading Post are very simple:

when putting an item up for sale, 5% of the sale price will be automatically deduced on the spot. This is the price for listing an item at the Trading Post. When an item is sold, whether it was posted or just sold to an already put up offer, the Trading Post will deduct 10% of the selling price.

So if you are putting up for sale a batch of 250 materials, you will be charged 5% of the price one and then another 10% when the sale occurs, totaling 15% of the sale price in taxes. If you have sold the items with just 1 copper extra per item than a merchant would offer, you have just scammed yourself of some copper or even silver.

Although when you are charged only 10% you might in some situations strike even, depending on the amount sold, when you put up items on the market with just 1 copper extra than the market price, you are actually losing money instead of earning extra.

Any operation that you undergo at the Trading Post should be calculated having the taxes in mind. Doing this can help you put correct prices on items and also diminishing the amount of gold that is taken away from you.

For example, you can also increase the price of your sold items by 15%, just to have the buyer pay all the taxes.  So an item that you think it’s worth 1 gold should be put up for 1 gold and 15 silver, so when the item is sold, a full gold will end up in your pockets. It’s just like in real life, but you really have to pay attention to the details here.
